Purpose of website designer: To be responsible for the layout, visual appearance and usability of the company website.
Key duties of website designer
1. Coding website using HTML.
2. Coordinating with programmers for specialized scripts.
3. Creating verbal content for the website or using approved content from the client.
4. Integrating verbal content with site design for final product.
5. Posting completed site to internet server using FTP software.
6. Making changes to the site directed by client.
7. Submitting completed site to search engines.
8. Provide training on maintenance and update procedures to clients who choose to take charge of their own websites.
9. Translating a client’s marketing or informational content into a functional website.
10. Mapping or outlining a website’s structural content.
11. Creating or editing images and graphics for website use.
12. Determining all coding requirements for site creation including: e-commerce capability, forms and specialized scripts.
13. Creating templates of approved website layout.
