System administrator job description
IT Systems administrator job description include key duties as follows:
1. Perform on-site and remote technical support.
2. Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources.
3. Maintains excellent communication with the IT Manager on all tasks and projects.
4. Creates and maintains good technical documentation.
5. Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications.
6. Monitors and maintains the use of the library’s photocopiers and printers.
7. Develops, maintains, and monitors procedures for all server backups.
8. Monitors, plans, and coordinates the distribution of client/server software and service packs.
9. Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement.
10. Provides emergency on-call support on a rotating schedule.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
