Senior financial analyst job description

Job purpose of Senior Financial analyst is to maintain, update and review financial and statistical data, assist in developing and evaluating financial plans and participate on special projects of a fiscal nature.

I. Key duties/responsibilities of Senior Financial analyst:

1. Carries out system related training for the Budget and Financial Planning department

2. Analyze monthly financial performance against plan and prior period

3. Perform cross functional and departmental projects as required

4. Conducts financial analysis on profitability enhancement opportunities and strategies, proposes changes to internal processes, and new business strategies

5. Prepare various executive management reports

6. Perform necessary financial analysis and valuation models in support of new service lines

7. Attends annual and periodic mandatory Compliance Program training including Privacy training

8. Participates in activities that promote adherence to federal healthcare program requirements

9. Maintains confidentiality of patients, families, and staff

10. Assist with analyzing actual results against budget and forecasts and prepare written analysis as required

11. Assist in the analysis ofgross and net revenue and determining final payment from applicable payors

12. Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems relating to cost control, revenue reimbursement and decision support

13. Extract financial data from all applicable financial applications

14. Review departmental operating statements on a monthly basis to determine reasons for budget variances
