Because sales can be measured in detail, you need to make preparations for questions in sales interview which will concentrate on results you have reached so far.

Many people believe that having a wide network of relationship is the key for success of sales profession. Somehow, that is right. That is why such questions focusing on your skills in this field, which are not so difficult to answer, need more abilities from you rather than your YTD results.

Interviews offered for those who apply for the post of salesperson is similar to others, except that in case of sales, recruiters can know your results in much detail. Good hiring managers will focus on such questions as follows:

• YTD performance
• % of revenue coming from new business (i.e. new accounts) vs. repeat business from existing clients
• Comparison of this year’s figures vs. last year’s
• Average deal size
• Average customer size
• Cycle of sales – the time it takes to close a deal
• Your role in the process of sales vs. others on your team
• Results Vs. target
