Sales assistant job description include key duties as follows:

1. Sales and provision of service

• Receives and approaches clients
• Leads a sales discussion
• Continues to ask questions to ascertain customer needs
• Provides a branch specific customization if applicable
• Places an order for the client
• Receives complaints or is involved in it
• Participates in work decisions

2. Receipt and processing of goods

• Receives goods
• Stores goods
• Replenishes permanent article presentations
• Erects temporary presentations
• Receives inventory
• Takes care of the store and/or storage room

3. Concludes sales transactions

• Makes the cash point and system ready to use
• Informs the client regarding conclusion of the sale
• Manages the point of sale system

4. Closes the point of sale system or gets insight into it.
