II/ Key job tasks of Promotions manager
1. Manage daily news promotional efforts for company and oversee writer/producers, coordinators and interns.
2. Work with Creative Director to coordinate all “outside media” efforts for the station including radio, print and related support materials required by news, sales and other sources.
3. Develop strategic plans for on-air news promotion based on research and / or direction from Creative Director.
4. Write, produce and edit news promotional spots.
5. Review all daily topical promotions and attend news meetings as needed.
6. Review logs on a daily basis – fill as needed.
7. Develop strategic plans.
8. Work closely with Design Director in developing branding efforts related to station look.
9. Coordinate staff for station news promotion events in community.
10. Perform other duties as needed and as directed by Creative Services Director.
11. Develop and direct the execution of the public relations programs including budget control, press release and promotion activities implementation in order to promote corporate image.
12. Review and approve all public statement on behalf of the company.
13. Advise on promotion material in conflict with public relations policy.
14. Coordinate with press and mass media, monitor above-the-line marketing and promotion performance.
15. Monitor research and analysis of the property market for the purpose of interpret the research result for the planning and development of marketing strategies.
III / Job specification of promotions manager
1. BA degree required; MBA preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience in positions of increasing responsibility as well as a proven track record of successful program development, implementation and marketing leadership specifically in the area of promotions.
3. Proven abilities in translating brand/marketing strategies into appropriate and effective promotional programs and alliances.
4. Experience in evaluating prospective properties and partners; experience in negotiating promotional agreements.
5. Experience in managing outside agencies and vendors.
6. Strong strategic and conceptual abilities coupled with a high bias for action and a proven track record of results.
7. Experience in a start-up and/or rapid growth environment, sound judgment, a strong work ethic and the ability to manage and motivate cross functionally is highly desired.
8. Strong strategic, entrepreneurial, communication and interpersonal skills as well as expertise in problem solving, prioritizing, tactical execution, planning and analysis.
