Project officer job description

Job purpose of Project officer is responsible for coordinating the top-line messages for the company through managing and tracking marketing and promotions efforts in support of the organization’s Mission and Values.

Key duties/responsibilities of Project officer:

1. Provide phasing and scheduling of projects.
2. Assist with documentation of best practices including writing/editing short articles, press releases and other materials.
3. Participate in development of special projects regarding program activities as well as cross-Unit projects.
4. Prepare procurement requests for good/services that require prior funding agency approval.
5. Review quarterly reports.
6. Review quarterly programmatic reports from subcontractors in relation to sub-contract scope of work.
7. Provide technical support to in-country finance and administrative staff.
8. Assist with human resource issues related to country programs.
9. Review activities for compliance with company policies and procedures.
10. Interface with contractors, construction managers, local school personnel and Senior Project Officers on project issues.
11. Participate in the development and issuance of project procedures and policies.
12. Work with Architect/Engineer of record regarding change orders, interpretation of contract documents, shop drawing submittals/approvals.
13. Coordinate the preparation of annual and other budgets, and conduct periodic budget reviews and analyses, managing reconciliation of on-site and off-site budgets.
14. Coordinate communications between country and offices.
15. Assist in work planning, proposal preparation, and sub-agreement processing.
16. Issue field memorandum and directives to contractors to enforce contract compliance.
17. Use independent judgment to make on-site change order decisions.
18. Review contractors claims/disputed work and advise senior management on appropriate action.
