Network Engineer Job description
Job purpose of Network Engineer is to oversees the installation, configuration and maintenance of networked information systems.
Key tasks of Network Engineer
1. Ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient use of servers;
2. Suggesting and providing it solutions to business and management problems;
3. Ensuring that all it equipment complies with industry standards;
4. Analyzing and resolving faults, ranging from a major system crash to a forgotten password;
5. Planning and implementing future it developments and undertaking project work;
6. Managing the website and keeping internal networks running;
7. Monitoring the use of the web by employees;
8. Installing, supporting and maintaining new server hardware and software infrastructure;
9. Managing email, anti spam and virus protection;
10. Setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords;
11. Monitoring network usage;
12. Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring network security, particularly if the network connects to the internet;
13. Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of it knowledge and competence;
14. Supervising other staff, such as help desk technicians;
15. Working closely with other departments/organizations and collaborating with other it staff;
