II/ Key tasks of compensation and benefits coordinator assistant
1. Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, in order to maintain and update payroll records.
2. Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.
3. Process and issue employee pay and statements of earnings and deductions.
4. Compute wages and deductions, and enter data into the payroll computer system.
5. Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from time sheets and other records.
6. Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information in order to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
7. Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, benefit plans, and collective agreement provisions.
8. Complete time sheets showing employees’ arrival and departure times.
9. Post relevant work hours to client files in order to bill clients properly.
10. Distribute and collect time sheets each pay period.
11. Complete, verify, and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as pension plans, and unemployment and medical insurance.
12. Prepare and balance period-end reports, and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements.
13. Compile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts, and submit them to appropriate departments.
14. Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records.
15. Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.
III / Job specification of compensation and benefits assistant
1. At least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Business.
2. Required language English.
3. At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
4. Preferably 1-2 yrs experienced employees specializing in Human Resources or equivalent job role in Payroll Officer or Compensation & Benefits.
