Job purpose of Financial vice president (vice president)
To be responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, DCAA, and other regulatory and advisory organizations.
I. Key duties/responsibilities of Financial vice president:
1. Oversees budget preparation and internal audit functions. Meets regularly with department heads to keep informed and to offer direction. Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
2. Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
3. Directs the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns and reports for government regulatory agencies, including billing accounts payable and payroll.
4. Manages subordinate supervisor(s) who supervise employee(s); is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units.
5. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism which includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
6. Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization’s fiscal function and performance.
7. Act as strategic partner to evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies/solutions and regulatory action.
8. Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
9. Oversees accounting department. Evaluation of the accounting department structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals.
10. Provide strategic and technical financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization.
