Job purpose of Financial planner (vice president)

To provide clients with advice on financial matters, making recommendations on ways to best utilize their money.

I. Key duties/responsibilities of Financial planner:

1. Acquires and applies intermediate knowledge of industry products, services, and processes.
2. Conducts in-depth interviews with members to identify financial data and deliver financial advice based upon members’ risk tolerance, financial goals and objectives, and individual circumstances.
3. Maintaining a deep understanding of regulatory compliance and departmental policies and procedures.
4. Applying strong written and verbal communication skills to build and strengthen client relationships; mastering client relationship management skills.
5. Works with members to implement and modify, as appropriate, financial plans based on individual needs and financial circumstances.
6. Responding to real-time and scheduled situational advice calls covering a wide array of financial topics.
7. Promoting professional development by maintaining an in-depth understanding of financial planning, capital markets, and the financial services industry; keeping abreast of industry-related changes and developments (e.g., taxation, regulatory, legal, competitive, and technical); maintaining all required licenses and designations.
8. Collaborates with team members to resolve issues and to identify appropriate issues for escalation.
9. Creating a positive, interactive environment for clients to discuss any issues or questions; using consultations to educate clients.
10. Implementing the recommended planning strategy by coordinating with Advice Services Planning Support Unit to initiate and document exchanges and transactions; monitoring the proposed strategy and appropriately guiding clients throughout the planning process.
11. Engaging clients throughout the financial planning process by addressing simple to complex financial situations; discussing various topics including investment, retirement, and college planning.
12. Communicating recommendations to clients during scheduled telephone consultations while demonstrating the highest level of client relationship skills.
