Financial controller job specification

1. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

2. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.

3. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.

4. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several projects.

6. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.

7. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Masters Degree in Finance or Accounting, five to ten years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, and a CPA.

8. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
