Construction technician job specification
Construction technician job specification include job requirements:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Strong communication skills.
3. Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
4. Must have good understanding of the aerial and underground construction practice
5. Willing to travel overnight 50% of the time.
6. Well organized with the ability to meet goals and objectives of projects.
7. Complete other duties/projects as assigned in an accurate, professional and timely manner.
8. Ability to sit at desk 30% of the time, with 50% spent in the standing, walking, stooping mode, and 20% spent in the driving mode.
9. Good communication skills both oral and written.
10. A self-starter capable of multiple tasks, well organized with the tenacity to complete goals and objectives in a timely fashion.
11. Must be able to perform non-routine assignments with minimum supervision.
12. Must be able to read and interpret strand and electronic outside plant prints and maps.
13. Must have ability to prepare drawings and sketches of outside plant.
14. Must be able to work with and coordinate activities of other employees as assigned.
15. Performs pole line transfers, splicing, replaces strand and lashing.
16. Must have the ability to construct or replace new hard-line plant.
